Breathtakingly beautiful, sleek and fast, Arktur is a rare and unique yacht that will appeal to anyone that loves the sea and the boats that sail upon it. Aktur is a classic yacht that combines astonishing good looks with pedigree. Abeking and Rasmussen is one of the oldest and finest yacht builders in the world and Arktur was built for and owned by Henry Rasmussen. Over the past several years, Arktur has undergone a massive refit by her current owner that included hull, deck, rigging, mechanical, electrical and plumbing systems. The interior was completely stripped and all furniture pieces were stored. The hull was sandblasted, primed with two part epoxy and was then sealed with two part epoxy paint. All cross stringers, and marginal sections of the hull were replaced by 3/16th steel. The original interior furniture was re-installed and refinished. Sections of the wood deck were removed, repaired then fiber glassed over. There is an extensive amount of topside teak that is currently painted over to reduce maintenance. A new generator was installed and all the AC and DC wiring was replaced and the batteries were upgraded. The engine was rebuilt and the plumbing replaced. Several items that remain to be completed are: the roof in the cabins needs to be repainted or covered. The shower needs to be plumbed to drain into a separate shower sump and not the grey water tank. Arktur also needs new sail covers and some interior upholstery. If you desire to own a beautiful classic yacht that will turn heads anywhere she sails, I recommend you personally inspect Arktur. She is offered far below her value in hopes of finding a new owner that will cherish her and appreciate her uniqueness. | ||||
