SALES EXECUTIVE
SUMMARY
We are the leading and longest established online boat sales portal in
the world, serving around 100 million pages of information to more than
4 million unique visitors per month. Our goal is to facilitate the
matching of buyers and sellers of boats, boating equipment and boating
services and we currently help our members to generate boat sales in
excess of €60 million per month. Our main customer base is the global
community of yacht brokers and boat sales organisations and we are
looking for a smart, enthusiastic sales executive to market our products
and services to this segment, primarily in the UK. Our team is small
(but growing) and informal, we are boating enthusiasts and hope that you
will be too.
FULL DESCRIPTION
YachtWorld/boats.com is in an exciting period of growth. If you are an
enthusiastic, hardworking individual who wants to be successful, this is
an excellent opportunity for you to join a growing and professional
team. The position requires someone who is self-motivated, with drive
and a thorough, disciplined approach to completion of the sales cycle.
Language skills would be a bonus and you should be able to generate new
business to meet exacting targets and build relationships with existing
clients to maintain their business.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- To grow revenue through new sales primarily in the UK, meeting or
exceeding monthly quotas for sales of core products (e.g. the ability to
list boats for sale on www.yachtworld.com and www.boats.com) and add-ons
(e.g. web-based Customer Relationship Management)
- To generate new leads through prospecting, cold calling or other
innovative solutions
- To complete the entire sales cycle in an effective and disciplined
manner, ensuring closure and completion of all database record keeping
(e.g. Salesforce)
- Effective account management by building and fostering client
relationships with a strong customer service ethic ensuring regular and
personalised contact
- To work as part of a team with top-level company goals in mind
QUALIFICATIONS and EXPERIENCE
- Successful sales experience preferably 2-3 years in
technology/software industry or some aspect of the marine industry.
Either way you must "get" the Internet and understand how it works in a
sales context
- Sound personal organisation, including disciplined and thorough follow
up and completion of tasks
- Independent and enthusiastic, tenacious and motivated to achieve sales
targets
- Excellent communication and presentation skills both on the phone and
face-to-face, with patient listening abilities and intuitive
understanding of needs
- Strong customer service ethos and customer service experience
preferred
- Familiarity with standard Office software plus contact management
- A knowledge of boats and the dynamics of the boating industry will be
an advantage
- A second European language would be a distinct advantage
PACKAGE
- Basic salary of £20,000-£25,000 with the ability to earn a further
£10,000 - £15,000 contingent on achievement of individual and company
sales targets
- Opportunity to go sailing at week-ends
- This position reports to the Sales Manager
